E-Trade

As we approach March Madness (options please basketball is a different blog site) we must assume E-Trade will be a takeover bid.

Huge unlimited potential, stock near 52 week low, buy that March 5 call option and watch it grow.

On a side note, yahoo, google and amazon will be wild this week. Hold on tight.

bunch of monkeys

Once upon a time in an indian village, a man appeared and announced to the villagers that he would buy monkeys for $10 each. The villagers seeing that there were many monkeys around, went out to the forest, and started catching them. The man bought thousands at $10 and as supply started to diminish, the villagers stopped their effort. He further announced that he would now buy at $20. This renewed the efforts of the villagers and they started catching monkeys again. Soon the supply diminished even further and people started going back to their farms. The offer increased to $25each and the supply of monkeys became so little that it was an effort to even see a monkey, let alone catch it! The man now announced that he would buy monkeys at $50! However, since he had t o go to the city on some business, his assistant would now buy on behalf of him.

In the absence of the man, the assistant told the villagers. "Look at all these monkeys in the big cage that the man has collected. I will sell them to you at $35 and when the man returns from the city, you can sell them to him for $50 each." The villagers rounded up with all their savings and bought all the monkeys.

Then they never saw the man again, nor his assistant, only monkeys everywhere!

Now you have an understanding of how the stock market works. Who da man?

option exp. exercise

manipulation at its best:

time price jan600put
3:00 600 0.7
3:10 602.7 0.3
3:17 602.89 0.2
3:23 601.04 0.4
3:30 600.57 0.45
3:44 600.36 0.25
3:49 601.2 0.05
3:52 600.91 0.05

prev. close was 600.79 and range today is 598 to 609.99
opened at 606.80

so we learn that stock closes at prev. close price on exp.
there is opportunity to profit, but respect the manipulators.
